Ethiopian Educational Endeavor is a new mission founded by Nathnael Tadesse to feed their minds and change their lives.
Children’s lives change when …
Educated people establish safe learning and teaching environments.

I met Bimnet and Tariku, a sister and brother who just relocated to Addis Ababa from Soddo. They are, respectively, nine and eleven years old and they have never been to school. A traditional teacher taught them only the Amharic alphabets, numbers and basic reading and writing. And like most of the girls, Bimnet remained in her hut cooking, sewing and cleaning, and like most of the boys, Tariku spent his day in the fields herding, farming and bartering. Fortunately for them, however, Bimnet and Tariku had a relative who brought them to Addis Ababa to attend school. They still have little hope of an adequate education without instructional resources.
While Bimnet and Tariku’s move opens a door of hope, their school and others are in desperate need of textbooks and instructional materials. The Ethiopian’s educational needs range from constructing new academic facilities to providing paper and pencils. Ethiopian schools immediately need primary and secondary textbooks, workbooks, notebooks, papers, pen and pencils. Ethiopian schools also lack comprehensive vocational and academic programs and first rate teacher-training institutes.
Ethiopian Education Endeavors is a 501.c.3 foundation established to collect and disseminate educational textbooks and workbooks to primary and secondary schools in Ethiopia. Hence, educators are enabled to evaluate, develop and increase curricular affinity between Ethiopian and the developed countries’ schools.

• Secondary school textbooks: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, World Geography, Economics, Technology.
We have already made good progress in getting our first shipment underway. The Johnson City Schools, Elizabethton Schools, and individuals have contributed textbooks, workbooks, and children’s reading books. And Dock1 provided us a storage and processing place. We are excited about this progress and are grateful to the people who have helped us thus far.
We have collected over 15,000 books. As you can imagine, our immediate tasks are sorting, packing, cataloging, and shipping a twenty-foot sea container. To deliver these educational materials to Timbite Ermias Community School, we must raise funds to cover the shipping cost. I am hopeful that Johnson City community and others will consider supporting us in this important work.
Our total expense for shipping and transportation both here and in Ethiopia is approximately $10,500. I am asking you, parents, business leaders, and churches to partner with EEE, Inc. in this work. I believe that our work especially depends upon the generous support of concerned people like you. I pray that your contribution will also signify the beginning of an enduring relationship with EEE, Inc. Your gift can make a huge contribution in empowering the children of Ethiopia with knowledge. Of course, any donation is completely tax deductible.
Knowledge is power, and power changes lives. I am not talking about fist power, but rather about the power that frees people from the bondage of ignorance. Knowledge is not only a collection of facts, but it is a direct result of compassion integrated with commitment that leads to sacrifices. My bachelors degree in History from Milligan College and my current pursuit of Master of Arts in Teaching from East Tennessee State University are precious opportunities that I would not have had if I was in Ethiopia. I am convinced that these initial preparations are the beginning of knowledge. Working with children with learning disabilities in the Johnson City Schools for the last three years has empowered me to better enable learning. Therefore, I believe feeding the mind facts with compassion integrated with unwavering commitment and willingness for prudent sacrifice changes lives. Come join Ethiopian Education Endeavors to feed the mind and change lives.
It would be a blessing and a joy to have you join us in our endeavors. If you would like to be involved with EEE, Inc. or have questions and need to contact me, my address, phone and email address are noted on this letter. God bless.
