Hopwood Outreach

Community Outreach

Here at Hopwood we are thankful to be participating in a number of community outreach activities. Current ministries include a Prison Ministry that travels once monthly to an area facility to share in a time of worship with the inmates, as well as an ongoing ministry of letter writing. Continuing training for the building of one-on-one relationships is also being offered through a national organization.

Loaves and Fishes is a ministry to underprivileged families in the Tri-cities area providing meals and conversation. The time is a blessing to the families as well as to the congregation. In the wake of the flooding and destruction in parts of Carter County last winter, Hopwoodians have participated in clothing and food donations, the clean-up effort, and are currently seeking families to support on a long term basis. Recovery is a long term process and deserves continuing attention.

We have had the privilege of working with the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity in the completion of two new homes in the last several months. Working with Habitat we were able to join with other churches in a common ministry to those in need, while promoting unity within the Body of Christ.
